Apparitions of Mary in Lourdes

Kia Ora!

Yesterday we learned apparitions of Mary to to honour the aasumption of Mary meaning that Mary's (Body and Soul) Went to heaven. We had three Apparitions that we could research about. One was Fatima, Lourdes and Beauraing. Apparitions means a ghostlike image of someone, which in this case was Mary. Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous the saint of our school. (St Bernadettes). In Beauraing Mary Appeared to Fernande (15), Gilberte (13), and Albert (11), children of Hector and Marie-Louise Perpète Voisin. Last but not least, In Fatima Mary appearead to Lucia Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto

We have been learning a mysterious fiction book called Petronas. At the start of the book, the author tells us that she has been inspired by water. We have been taking water for granted, out of taps. But What if you lived in a place where finding water was hard work, she says. Well we have been doing activities from every chapter, about what it was about or what we learned in it. After we finished it, at the end of the slide show was "Response to text". It basically means that work to show share it to the class and you guys. I skipped the (Chapter 1-5) Response to text and finished that 6-7 Response to text.

What is Media?

Today i'll tell you guys what media is. We have been learning how to classify different forms of media. Media comes in many different forms such us Print media, Broadcasting Media and Online Media. After we all learned the different types of media, we made a Venn diagram. Then we name the three circles with the media. Then we put things that originate from those medias e.g. Netflix goes into the online media and newspapers goes in the Print media.

Well, here is my Venn diagram that shows the different types of media.

So if you have a similar task to mine, what would you put in the Venn Diagrams?

I thought I did well but at first I had a really hard time to understand the media. But when I learned more I understood what media is.

Toolkits

 Ki Ora!

Today, we used the Toolkit prepared by our cluster of year 7&8. First, the day before our teacher shared with us a doc that contained a link for a sheet. It was about what toolkit we will go through tomorrow (Today). For my first session it said that I go in "How to Use Prezi" But I'll skip all of that as I didn't learn anything because of technical difficulties that took most of the time.

The last session was the most important session as it took 30 minutes for the session to finish and in that time I learned "How to Use Prezi" (Yeah I know, I already did the prezi. But the link to my original toolkit didn't work) The leaders who were presenting it was Mia Lee and 2 other were from Yaldhurst Model School. I really enjoyed the toolkit.

Human Dignity

Today I'm gonna tell you guys what we have been doing for R.E. (Religious Education). We have been learning about human dignity and other values for caritas this year. So, Human dignity means worthiness. Dignity come from the latin word "Dignitas" which means worthiness. Dignity Cannot be earned or taken away, Dignity is a right of a human person to be valued and respected. Our teacher made a slide for us to learn what human dignity is. She has gave us videos, a youtube video about god and humans. Then we have two create task for what human dignity is.

What is a spam? What I know about a spam is that they don't have any post in their blog. They comment on your blog and when you think their comment is fishy you clock on their name above their comment.

If you were to make a book creator, what would the topic be?

Tapa

Today i'm gonna show you guys one of my completed task for tapas. One of my activities was remembering and understanding. The remembering task is in the same slide as the understanding but it was remembering what tapa is and what is true or false, and how to make a tapa cloth and what the main function of the tapa. The understanding part means if I understand tapa. The first task for the understanding is to summarize the title "A Vanishing Art". Then the next task is how you can make the dyes for the tapa and what you need to make it. 

I couldn't really find any link for the book.

I really think I understand what the tongan tapa is and that I finished the tasked really quickly.

So, If you were to make a Tapa what colors would you choose to dye it?

Scale

Hi guys, today i'm gonna tell you guys what scale means and how to use a scale. First things off, our teacher taught what scale is. During that, she called people who volunteered to help her measure our classroom. At the end our classroom was 9 meters length and 7 meters width.  After measuring the class, she gave us a grid paper, at the time most of use were confused and didn't know what to do! But later on we got to know scale. The gird paper was full of 5 by 5 squares. Then we made a 9 by 7 rectangle in the paper, to recreate the classroom. After that our teacher tasked as to measure our desk and write in the grid paper. Eventually we all finished the tasked and measured other things in the classroom.

I really liked my work as well as my teacher because the placing was accurate.

What I know about Blog commenting is:

You need to make a positive and thoughtful comment. Saying bad stuff might affect them. Introduce yourself to the person, make a friend. Tell them what you enjoyed about their post and what they need to improve from. Give a helpful advice. Make them appreciate your comment. Last but not least ask them a question about their post or who they are.

What is a Zendoodle?

Ki ora! 

This week we have been working on a type of art, call zendoodle or zentangle. To start a zen doodle, you make a string, or a landscape to separate different parts of the square. You might think that we start with pencil and then trace it later on, but no we first used colored pens and then we trace it with ink to cover up mistakes that were made. 

We are making the zendoodles because of our topic this term, Pirates. 
I thought at first that this was very hard, but then later on I learned, it's just like doodling but more beautiful.

Our teacher gave us practice sheet to practice our doodling. 

I thought my zen doodle had a lot of picture. But I improved and drew less pictures.

On Monday, we made a poster about worst job on a pirate ship and make it sound interesting enough to make people apply for it. Our worst job was the Powder Monkey which he had to give the cannons gunpowder, It was a dangerous job.We made the poster in a google drawings, for extra we made a pirate flag. Facts About Agouti

So in a week or two we have been learning about paraphrasing. Just last week we made an info report of our chosen animal. My animal is a rodent called Agouti. Without the San diego zoo site, I couldn't have done this info report. Here is the link to the site

The Essential Guide to making a perfect Self-Portrait

Hey guys! I am going to guide you guys what you need to do, to get a self portrait. Of course I couldn't have done this without a guide for my own self. Here is the link

First take a picture of yourself. Then put it in the google drawing. Now use the curve tool and outline the base of your head and make it transparent. The ear, then the hair. After that zoom in your hair and outline the lighter areas of your hair. After that outline your eyebrows, eyes and mouth. We then colored the lighter areas of our face. Once our faces were finished outlining, we installed the color picker extension. Now move your mouse courser to the top right of your device and click the color pencil, then click the color pencil button. Then click on every parts of the face, then click the fill the color button and go to the very button and click the plus. Then delete all the number and copy, do this to each and every shapes.

I found this task really challenging because I did two self portraits and I found it really frustrating when you make lines instead of shapes.

Simple sentences

Hi guys! I am going to show you guys what simple sentences are!

A simple sentence is a sentence consisting of only one clause, with a single subject and predicate. Also if writing just simple sentences in a story makes it boring. So I suggest that you guys don't use simple sentence in a story that often

Cops

Today in R.E I have to write a story about what I want to be when I'm older. Then give you 3 reason why you might like this job! Hope you guys enjoy:)

I want to be a cop. A cop is a law enforcement. I've been watching movies about cops and how they serve justice to criminals who have done awful things, I want to be a cop because they have tasers and guns and all of the things that can help you catch a criminal. I haven't ridden a helicopter before, so I heard that some of the police officers can ride helicopters! That would be a dream come true, although I might be scared on my first flight.
