What is Media?

Ki ora!

Today i'll tell you guys what media is. We have been learning how to classify different forms of media. Media comes in many different forms such us Print media, Broadcasting Media and Online Media. After we all learned the different types of media, we made a Venn diagram. Then we name the three circles with the media. Then we put things that originate from those medias e.g. Netflix goes into the online media and newspapers goes in the Print media.

Well, here is my Venn diagram that shows the different types of media.

So if you have a similar task to mine, what would you put in the Venn Diagrams?

I thought I did well but at first I had a really hard time to understand the media. But when I learned more I understood what media is.

What is a spam? What I know about a spam is that they don't have any post in their blog. They comment on your blog and when you think their comment is fishy you clock on their name above their comment. 

To start an online conversation. 

Tip #1 When someone comment on your post you answer their comment with a thank you for commenting and a question at the end.

Tip #2  Make your comment thoughtful and helpful.

Blog Commenting

What I know about Blog commenting is:

You need to make a positive and thoughtful comment. Saying bad stuff might affect them. Introduce yourself to the person, make a friend. Tell them what you enjoyed about their post and what they need to improve from. Give a helpful advice. Make them appreciate your comment. Last but not least ask them a question about their post or who they are.

Last week we learnt how to put a link in a comment.

Where it says insert display text here, You delete and write what you want it to say e.g "Click here to listen/watch/read"

Quality Blog Comments

Good Morning guys, in our first Wednesday of term 3. Ms Morgan taught us quality blog comments. The focus of this post is teaching you guys how to make a Quality blog comment. For this work we chose our partner and I chose the Ofa. We chose what were are there are 3 sections, beginners, stepping up, and confident. Confident are for those who have been blogging for years. we chose confident. To understand the more we watched videos from our Chromebooks. We found this information from UruManuka

The Essential Guide to making a perfect Self-Portrait

Hey guys! I am going to guide you guys what you need to do, to get a self portrait. Of course I couldn't have done this without a guide for my own self. Here is the link

First take a picture of yourself. Then put it in the google drawing. Now use the curve tool and outline the base of your head and make it transparent. The ear, then the hair. After that zoom in your hair and outline the lighter areas of your hair. After that outline your eyebrows, eyes and mouth. We then colored the lighter areas of our face. Once our faces were finished outlining, we installed the color picker extension. Now move your mouse courser to the top right of your device and click the color pencil, then click the color pencil button. Then click on every parts of the face, then click the fill the color button and go to the very button and click the plus. Then delete all the number and copy, do this to each and every shapes.

I found this task really challenging because I did two self portraits and I found it really frustrating when you make lines instead of shapes.

How does a Computer think?

The day of November 27, 2019 Miss Morgan came to our class to teach about Binary. Binary is like a message from the chips of the Chromebook to the other. For Example H is 01001000 and I is 01001001 and it means HI.

Here is my Name in Binary, can you translate it? I know you guys already know my name but please translate my name.

The Chips for a Chromebook

On the Morning of 20-11-19 Miss Morgan came to our class. She has been away sick for weeks but now she can teach again! Miss Morgan showed us the Chips for Chromebooks, she questioned us about what we know about the Chips and everybody shared they're idea. When Miss Morgan finished teaching she said that we had to get an envelop from her and get the cards in the right order. Then we write it in Blogger and Post it! Here's mine.  




This is the RAM short for Random Access Memory - “I run between CPU and Mass Storage fetching information. I am really fast and remember all things that happen while the lid is open on your computer. As soon as you close the lid I forget everything!”

This is Rom short for Read Only Memory - “When the computer is on, it is my job to figure out who should do what and wake them up! I have all the instructions for the basics, like how to turn on the computer. After I
have done my job I get to rest.”

This is the Mass Storage or otherwise you could call it 'The Brain' -

 This is GPU short for Graphics Processing Unit - “I focus on showing everything you can see on your screen. I’m also good at calculating.”

 This is CPU short for Central Processing Unit - “I am very smart and fast at calculating things. I turn the information into instructions to tell everybody what they should do. I have a very bad memory!”

Cybersmart: My very first Collage

In the morning of 16-10-19 Miss Morgan helped us learn about Collage. The first thing you have to do in Collage is find a "Smart" Picture which means you can use it and doesn't have copyright. Two, Collage is an art invented by Herbert Harvard it is suppose to be colorful doesn't have to always be and you have to put another picture to the other. This is mine, it's my first time so I am still learning and is bad. Don't Judge
